Then, entering the ballroom, you are instantly transported by the savory tones of our sultry jazz and gorgeous classics. A spicy shiraz and salmon on the grill await you. At last, there's nothing left to do but kick back and breathe easy.

is an eclectic ensemble that pushes the boundaries of classical music. Since 1998, Laura Barron and Liesa Norman have toured their electrifying duo from the Yukon to Florida. Having appeared as a soloist with the Boston Symphony and in Lincoln Center, Laura brings to Forbidden Flutes twenty years of classical music experience, as well as the flexibility and creativity that she has cultivated as a novelist and yoga teacher. Liesa enhances their music’s drama and sensuality as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, alternative rock singer/songwriter, model, and actress. This versatile pair is equally at home performing jazz, film music, Radiohead, Bach and Mozart. Expect their shows to attract everyone from martini drinking hipsters to the tea and crumpet crowd. The only thing forbidden to them is limits!

Van Django is an acoustic string ensemble whose music is well-rooted in the gypsy jazz of 1930's Paris France, but beyond that it's all pure blue-skying, flights of dazzling fancy, driving rhythms and boundless creativity. Since the groups formation they have toured throughout Canada, US, and Europe. Regularly appearing on CBC, they have also twice been featured guests of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra. The members have collectively played on over 30 feature film soundtracks, and they've enjoyed collaborations with many well-known Canadian and international music artists. Experience this foursome playing their original compositions and quirky arrangements in an action packed musical universe they call, "acoustic string hot jazz!".

With the versatile band members of Beatthief, Liesa Norman showcases her imaginative improvisatory skills as she blends her sultry flute tones with their electronic dance grooves. Originally a classical flutist and pianist who has performed on main stages around the world, Liesa has also composed music for film and television. And now this complete musician has also naturally evolved into a reflective singer/songwriter. Her original music reveals Liesa the artist, the woman, and the personality. Her vocals are both an intimate and extroverted portrayal of her perfect and not so perfect paradigm, all delivered with an honesty and beauty in a way only Liesa can. Here, we hear Liesa's true introspect, perception and reaction to her world. Her music is a quirky blend of melody, driving rhythm and sound, all delivered in a chamber pop format that fans of Beck, Bjork, Coldplay, Feist and Madonna can easily digest.

Anna B has traveled the world, living, studying, and performing in Europe, Turkey, the US, Cuba, Brazil, Mexico and Canada. This dynamic performer honed her craft as an entertainer with this life experience, gaining a maturity that has added depth to her development as an artist. Her theatrical background has given her an innate storytelling ability and an ease for evoking emotion that brings her music to life.

Anna B and the Heartbones create a unique music they call World Beat Cantina. Anna, who has performed on CBC and with the Vancouver Symphony, is joined by band members who have worked with Sarah McLaughlin, Ray Charles, and BB King to bring their audiences a myriad of musical influences from Roots, Bossa Nova, Mariachi, Samba, and Jazz.
